Over 30 years…

Helping Herts Homeless started out 30 years ago as the charity North Herts Sanctuary’, when a small group of church people recognised the need to address the growing problem of local homelessness.

Our Hostel, the North Herts Sanctuary on Nightingale Road in Hitchin, provides safe and secure accommodation to local homeless individuals, and offers hot meals and facilities.  Targeted support and day services are operated by One YMCA on a 24/7 basis.

Our HHH name reflects the charity’s new direction and focus.  We now also act as a hub in supporting other charities and organisations who are directly involved in alleviating homelessness.
